3 Indian batsmen scored a half-century in the Rajkot ODI and even though KL Rahul wasn't the top scorer his innings was probably the most crucial one. With a fiery 52-ball-80 batting at number 5, Rahul proved that even though he may not be the first choice opener, but he can be devastating lower down the order as well. With India once again losing quick wickets in the death overs, Rahul stepped up and not only stabilised the innings but also gave a good finishing touch helping the men in blue end with a mammoth 340/6. In the process, he also became the 3rd fastest Indian to score 1000 ODI runs. Post the game, Virat too lavished praise on Rahul saying that it's very difficult to leave someone like him out. Commenting about his keeping, Kohli added that Rahul was really good with the gloves in the last game as well and If he keeps like that, it opens up a lot of option for the team.
