Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan tweeted to say he has tested positive for Covid-19. He added that he is being treated at the Government Medical College in Kozhikkode and requested those who have been in contact with him to go into self observation.
The chief minister had taken the first dose of vaccine against Covid-19 on March 3. Vijayan is currently asymptomatic. His daughter Veena Vijayan and son-in-law P A Mohammed Riyas had earlier tested positive.
CM Vijayan had extensively travelled across the state as part of the electioneering for the Assembly polls which was held on April 6. The counting of votes will be held on May 2.
