Kabul airport blast: death toll over 100, 95 Afghans and 13 US soldiers killed

Islamic State affiliate ISIS-Khorasan has claimed responsibility for the attack. 

At least 95 Afghans and 13 US soldiers were killed in Thursday's suicide bombings outside Kabul's international airport, according to officials. It was the deadliest day for US forces in Afghanistan since August 2011.

Taliban claim 28 of their fighters are among those killed in the attack in which two suicide bombers and gunmen targeted crowds flocking to Kabul’s airport. The Taliban has condemned the attack and added that it took place in an area that under control of US forces.

Islamic State affiliate ISIS-Khorasan has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Evacuations flights from Kabul airport which were suspended after the bombings have now resumed.
