Jet staff seek SBI nod to allow 'outside' investors to bid for airline

Apr 30, 2019 14:34 IST

In a letter to SBI, the Jet Airways staff, including the pilots and maintenance engineers have sought permission to allow a consortium of employees and investors to bid for the airline. The letter indicates that their contribution in reviving the grounded airline over a hypothetical 5-year stock ownership programme will fetch around ₹4,000 crore. They are also confident of roping in ₹3,000 crore from 'outside' investors. At this point, lenders have already shortlisted investors to bid for a 75% stake in the airline.
