PM Narendra Modi’s address at the Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata set the tone for a fierce battle in poll-bound West Bengal. The enthusiastic crowd who had gathered at the venue welcomed PM Modi with 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' when he arrived at the ground at 2 PM. The presence of the massive gathering furling Lotus flags suggests that the Bhartiya Janta Party is finally finding its feet in Mamata Banerjee ruled Bengal. The dominance of the saffron hue at the Brigade Parade ground and the chanting of 'Jai Shree Ram' demonstrates an inclination towards Modi's BJP in a state that has long been ruled by the Trinamool Congress Party. PM's Brigade rally which is the first of his 20 rallies in West Bengal was also attended by Bollywood star Mithun Chakravarthy who joined BJP minutes before PM Modi's arrival. Kailash Vijayvargiya, Swapan Dasgupta, and many other folk artists also adorned the 72-feet long stage. As per ANI reports, around 7 lakh people attended the rally and to monitor it, over 1500 cameras were installed across the city.
