J&K pharmacist charged under anti-terror laws granted bail

Aug 28, 2020 16:42 IST

A pharmacist from J&K, who was charged under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, has been granted bail by a Jammu court after it observed that he was falsely implicated in the militancy related case. The judge remarked that the court could not find a single witness or statement that could be held against Zahoor Ahmed and reprimanded the investigation officer. A pharmacist with the government, Zahoor Ahmed was arrested in January this year accused of supporting Hizbul Mujahideen and Jehangir Saroori, Kashmir's oldest surviving militant. He was accused of passing information about security personnel to the militants.
