Oct 16, 2020 12:02 IST

In a major embarrassment for the J&K administration, the Anti-Corruption Bureau, which re-investigated the 2009 Gulmarg land scandal, has again indicted the advisor to the Lieutenant Governor, The Indian Express has reported. Retired IAS officer Baseer Ahmad Khan was first chargesheeted and arrested in 2013, but was released on bail. Khan went on to become Kashmir's Divisional Commissioner. He was named Advisor to the L-G by the Centre in March this year. The new indictment by the ACB has come as an embarrassment to the administration of the newly-carved Union Territory which has been claiming success in its fight against corruption since the abrogation of J&K’s special status last year.
