J&K: 'Asia's largest' tulip garden reopens for visitors

Mar 26, 2021 09:32 IST | By Editorji News Desk

The Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, located on the foothills of Zabarwan Mountains in Jammu and Kashmir, has reopened for the public from Thursday.

Nearly 15 lakh bulbs of different tulips have been planted this year with over 64 varieties.

The garden, also 'Asia's largest', had remained closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and its reopening marks the beginning of a new season of tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.

All Covid-19 protocols, including social distancing and face masks, are mandatory. Expressing joy on the news of its reopening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi too stated that 25th March is special for Jammu and Kashmir.
