Italian sport should be banned throughout April says Sports Minister

Mar 30, 2020 11:21 IST

Italy's nationwide lockdown may be due to end on Friday but sports minister Vincenzo Spadafora is planning to extend the ban on games and competitions in the country through all of April. According to him the talks about restarting the Serie A on May 3 are unrealistic. Some clubs like Lazio and Napoli had been pushing to restart training as soon as this week but Spadafora feels that big clubs live in a bubble but they need to understand that nothing will be like before after this crisis. At least 15 Serie A players have tested positive for COVID-19 as Italy's overall has nearly 100,000 positive cases.
