iPhone, iPad users in India urged by government to update software

CERT-IN has reportedly urged iPhone and iPad users in India to update their devices to the latest software versions.

iPhone and iPad users in India have been asked to urgently update their devices to the latest software versions.

The Indian government's IT security organisation CERT-In (Indian Computer Emergency Response Team) has asked users to update their iPhone and iPad devices to the latest iOS 14.7.1 and iPadOS 14.7.1 versions.

The latest versions reportedly fix a memory corruption zero-day flaw that the Indian government has confirmed is being actively exploited.

CERT-In has reportedly said a successful breach of these weaknesses could allow hackers to gain access to a targeted system.

The memory corruption flaw reportedly affects all iPhone 6s and newer models, all iPad Pro devices, iPad Air 2 and newer, iPad fifth generation and newer, iPad mini 4 and newer models, the seventh generation iPod Touch, and devices running macOS Big Sur.
