Indonesia: Volcano three-quarters blown away by tsunami

Dec 29, 2018 15:45 IST

Scientists say Indonesia's Anak Krakatau volcanic island is now only about a quarter of its earlier size after eruption and collapse triggered a deadly tsunami. Anak Krakatau now has a volume of 40-70m cubic meters, having lost up to 180 cubic meters since the December 22nd disaster. The crater peak was brought down from 338 metres to 110 metres.
