Indian pacers overshadow a below-par batting show vs New Zealand XI

Feb 16, 2020 18:52 IST

A below-par show by the Indian batsmen vs New Zealand XI was overshadowed by the fast bowlers on day 2 of the 3-day tour game as the hosts were bowled out for 235, 28 runs short of India's 1st innings total. Mohammad Shami who was rested for the final 2 ODIs against the Blackcaps was at his usual best and finished as the highest wicket-taker with 3 scalps. His partner in crime Jasprit Bumrah whose form was a bit concerning after going wicketless in the ODI series also struck form and picked up 2 wickets, giving away just 18 runs in 11 overs. Umesh Yadav and Navdeep Saini too picked up 2 wickets as India's pace attack once again looks lethal ahead of the 2-match Test series.
