India came out strongly against the statement of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Jammu and Kashmir at the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) on Tuesday. India said the OIC has no locus standi to comment on the Kashmir issue, accusing Pakistan of "misusing the forum". India also reminded the Council that Pakistan has deliberately misused the OIC for its malicious propaganda against India, to divert attention from its own serious violations of human rights. This comes almost a week after India rejected Pakistan minister Shireen Mazari's criticism of the human rights situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
