India saw the highest jump in coronavirus cases on Saturday with 194 patients testing positive. The Health Ministry confirmed 918 novel Covid-19 cases, which include 79 who have recovered and 19 who have died. Kerala on Saturday reported its first Covid-19 death, while Gujarat recorded another death. As the cases continue to surge, the health ministry said it cannot conclude there has been community transmission despite there being sporadic cases where patients were without any foreign travel of contact history. In their evening press briefing, the Health Ministry said ‘rigorous’ contact-tracing is underway and the focus is to set up Covid-19 dedicated hospitals.
