India's first-ever sustainable fashion award bagged by 'I Was a Sari'

Ethical lifestyle fashion brand 'I Was a Sari' by Stephano Funari and Poornima Pande, has been awarded the ‘CIRCULAR DESIGN CHALLENGE AWARD'. The award, which is India's first for sustainable fashion award, was presented at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week 2019. The Circular Design Challenge was launched to encourage designers to use waste materials like plastic. The winning collection included items made of recycled plastic tarpaulin like a raincoat, a bag and an umbrella.
