The National Commission for Women on Monday asked police in Uttar Pradesh to take action against Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav for allegedly instigating hatred and ill-will against suspended BJP member Nupur Sharma.
The Supreme Court last week said Sharma "and her loose tongue had set the country on fire' and that she needed to apologise”.
Sharma had made controversial remarks against Prophet Mohammad.
Yadav said on Twitter: "Not only the face but the body should also apologise and should also be punished for disturbing the harmony of the country." In a letter to Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police D S Chauhan, NCW chairperson Rekha Sharma said the tweet is "sheer instigation".
“The National Commission for Women has come across a Twitter post of Akhilesh Yadav instigating a feeling of hatred and ill-will against Nupur Sharma also, inciting communal disharmony between the two religious groups which is extremely condemnable,” Sharma said.
“Considering the gravity of the matter, you are required to take immediate action against Akhilesh Yadav...," Sharma wrote.
She also termed the SP chief's statement "unsolicited" as the matter is already being looked into by the judiciary.   "Nupur Sharma is already facing threat to her life and the tweet of Akhilesh is a sheer instigation to the general public to assault Sharma. A fair investigation must be accomplished in a time bound manner," Sharma said.
She said action taken must be apprised within three days.

The Delhi Police arrested Ankit and Sachin Bhiwani Sunday night. The two are wanted criminals belonging to Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar gang alliance, they said.
According to police, Ankit was one of the shooters involved in the killing of Moosewala, while Bhiwani was responsible for harbouring four of the shooters.
With this, the city police has so far arrested five people in connection with the case, they said.
A senior police officer said Bhiwani, a native of Haryana, handles the operations of Lawrence Bishnoi gang in Rajasthan. He is also wanted in a case at Churu in Rajasthan.
He also said that Ankit, a resident of Sersa village in Haryana, is also named in two other cases of attempt to murder in Rajasthan.
A 9 mm pistol along with 10 live cartridges, a 30 mm pistol with nine live cartridges, three police uniforms of Punjab Police and two mobile handsets along with a dongle and SIM card have been seized from their possession, police said.
Last month, the Special Cell arrested three people, including two shooters, in connection with the killing of Moosewala.

The accused were identified as Priyavrat alias Fauji (26), a resident of Sonipat in Haryana; Kashish (24), also from the state&rsquo;s Jhajjar district; and Keshav Kumar (29), a resident of Bhatinda in Punjab.
Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, known as Sidhu Moosewala, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Punjab&rsquo;s Mansa district on May 29.

Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government passed its final test on Monday. In a specially convened Assembly session, the new government won the trust vote crossing the majority mark with 20 votes. 
After the death of one MLA, the Assembly's strength was reduced to 287 out of which the Shinde government received 164 votes of confidence. 
Upon winning Deputy Chief Minister of the 5-day old government Devendra Fadnavis gave a speech in the Assembly. Praising the new CM, Fadnavis said, 'A true Shiv Sainik is finally at the helm at the government,' adding that despite winning the people's mandate in 2019 with the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance, majority was deliberately taken away from them. 
'With Eknath Shinde, we have once again formed our government with Shiv Sena,' the former CM said. 
Brushing aside rumours of feeling unhappy for being demoted to a Deputy CM Fadnavis said, 'I would have even sat at home had the party told me - the same party that made me a CM.' Fadnavis also addressed the murmurs of a power struggle between him and Shinde, 'Today I tell you that there will never be a tussle for power in this govt, we'll continue cooperating.'
In a surprising twist, Fadnavis had announced last week that Shinde would be Maharashtra's new Chief Minister shutting down talks of him returning to his old post. However, minutes before Shinde took oath, BJP high command declared that Fadnavis would be sworn in as Shinde's Deputy, a post Fadnavis graciously accepted. 
'I had once said that I'll come back. But when I said that, several people mocked me. I've come back today and brought him (Eknath Shinde) along with me. I won't take revenge on people who mocked me. I'll forgive them, everything isn't taken to heart in politics,' he added. 
Playing with words of his critics Fadnavis said, 'People taunt that it's an ED govt. Yes, it's an ED govt-govt of Eknath Devendra.' 
Chief Minister Shinde and Deputy CM Fadnavis took oath on June 30, less than 24 hours after MVA government's CM Uddhav Thackeray resigned. Rest of the ministers of the 'ED government' are yet to be sworn in.

Disturbing videos from Delhi's Paschim Vihar area emerged online where a man can be seen attacking residents of the locality along with their pet dog.
The man, identified as Dharamvir Dahiya, was upset over the dog barking and allegedly biting him.
Caught on CCTV cameras, one video shows Dahiya running towards the barking dog with an iron pipe in his hand who then strikes it on the head of the dog. The owner, who tries to intervene, is also dealt a blow by Dahiya.
In another video, Dahiya allegedly barges into the residents' house, takes out the iron pipe and then hits a woman who tries to stop him.
Officials at the East Paschim Vihar police station said that they received a PCR call regarding the matter at 9.27 am on Sunday. 
Deputy commissioner of police (DCP, Outer) Sameer Sharma said that they have registered a case under various sections of the IPC and investigation is underway.

Not known to have any party affiliations, Sharma, who had contested as an Independent, is also said to have criminal antecedents.

With a single-day rise of 44,230 cases, India's Covid-19 tally climbed to nearly 3.16 crore on Friday, while the death toll due to the viral disease shot up to over 4.23 lakh with 555 more people succumbing to it, the Union health ministry said.
The number of active coronavirus cases in the country registered an increase for the third consecutive day, according to the ministry's data.

The number of active cases has gone up to over 4.05 lakh accounting for 1.28% of the total caseload, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.38%, the data showed.
An increase of 1,315 cases was recorded in the active Covid-19 tally in a span of 24 hours.

A bizarre incident has been reported where a man dressed up as a Zomato delivery executive to get a job in Bengaluru.
The man is identified as Aman Khandelwal, he is looking for a job as a management trainee. Aman as a Zomato delivery agent delivers his resume in the boxes of pastries to the Bengaluru startups. Each pastry box contains a note of "Most of the resumes end up in the trash but mine in your belly."
Aman posted this on his Twitter handle on Saturday, his post garnered many likes and comments. Following this Aman dropped his Linkedin profile link in the comment section so that people can approach him with his viral tweet.

A man from Bengaluru is garnering many thumbs ups on social media with his &lsquo;in the box&rsquo; idea of sending&nbsp; job applications. Aman Khandelwal, who was looking for a job as a management trainee, dressed up as a Zomato rider and delivered this resume to several Bengaluru startups in a pastry box.&nbsp;
Each box contained some pastries, his resume and a note saying &lsquo;most of the resumes end up in the trash but mine in your belly.&rsquo;

Aman posted a picture of him dressed as a Zomato delivery agent and the pastry box on his Twitter handle on Saturday and followed it up by dropping his Linkedin profile link in the comment section.&nbsp;
Several twitter users did point out that it is not an original idea and that it has been done before but Digital Gurukul Metaversity, a digital institute offering marketing courses, was so impressed by his effort that they offered him a scholarship for one of their programmes and an internship.&nbsp;

Globular clusters are stable and tightly bound groups that contain tens of thousands to millions of stars. They are bound together in a tight gravitational bond and are usually much larger than open clusters. The strong gravitational bond between the stars gives them the speherical shape hence the name 'globular'. 
Globular clusters usually contain older, redder stars more than in open clusters. Redder stars in open clusters usually disperse before they become old. Strong gravity also provides stability in globular clusters resulting in a longer life span, allowing stars to reach billions of years of age. 
Star clusters of all kind are of equal and great interest to astronomers because the constituent stars would have approximately been formed at the same time and locations having similar internal compositions. Thus the clusters offer useful insights into the formation and evolution of stars. However, studying individual stars within globular clusters is not possible because of their tightly-wound shape. 
The new image from Hubble comes from an investigation of globular clusters which lay close to the centre of the Milky Way galaxy. Previous studies did not venture into this because the dusty centre of the galaxy blocks out light from the clusters and also alters the colours of the stars within them. A star's colour helps astronmers determind its age, composition and temperature. 
The scientists who made these observations combined information from Hubble with data from astronomical archives, which allowed them to measure the ages of globular clusters like NGC 6569. Their research also helped give insights into the structure and density of globular clusters towards the centre of the Milky Way.

In Madhya Pradesh's Guna district, a tribal woman was allegedly set on fire and the entire ordeal was filmed by villagers on Saturday. The woman, Rampyari Bai and her husband Arjun belong to the Saharia tribe,  that comes under the particularly vulnerable tribal groups (PVTGs). 
The couple had approached the police a few days ago claiming threat to their lives as some powerful men of the village wanted to grab their land however no action was initiated. 
On Saturday afternoon, the accused were ploughing the land when she reached and objected to it. That is when, they allegedly set her ablaze. Rampyari was rushed to a hospital in Guna, about 65 kms away. There she was referred to another hospital in Bhopal that is four hours away. 
With 80% of burns, Rampyari is in a critical state fighting for her life. The 38-year-old told doctors that six people of the village poured diesel on her and set her on fire in her own farm. She named the accused as Pratap, Hanumat, Shyam Kirar, Pandit and also two women. Her husband Arjun has said that on his way to the farm he saw Pratap, Hanumat and Shyam Kirar fleeing the spot in a tractor along with their family members. When Arjun arrived at the farm, he saw Rampyari was on fire.
Countering Rampyari's claims, the accused say that she tried to immolate herself and was already in flames when they saw her. A viral video shows a woman on fire in a field and some men are heard saying, 'Let's take a video, she has set herself on fire.' They continue to film even as the woman screams in agony. It is not yet ascertained who filmed the video.
The farm where she was set on fire is claimed by Rampyari's family. According to Arjun, the land was alloted to them under a Chief Minister welfare scheme launched by the Digvijiya Singh government. Disputes over the land were settled by the local administration in Rampyari's family's favour in May.

He told the police that after setting her ablaze they even shot a video and shared it on social media. Countering Rampyari's claims, the accused say that she tried to immolate herself and was already in flames when they saw her.
Guna Superintendent of Police Pankaj Srivastava told local media that an FIR had been registered and two of the three accused had been taken into custody.
The farm where she was set on fire is claimed by Rampyari's family. According to Arjun, the land was alloted to them under a Chief Minister welfare scheme launched by the Digvijiya Singh government. Disputes over the land were settled by the local administration in the family's favour in May.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh slammed the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh over the incident. 'A party that puts up Droupadi Murmu for the presidential election allows such a terrible atrocity on a tribal woman. Shameful,' he tweeted.
Presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha too condemned the burning saying that this incident shows how shallow the state government's commitment is to tribal welfare.&nbsp;

In what the Special Protection Group (SPG) saw as a major breach of security, black balloons were released into the flight path of Prime Minister Narendra Modi&rsquo;s Mi-17 helicopter as he took off from the Vijayawada International Airport (VIA) for Bhimavaram on Monday.
State police, however, denied there was any breach of security but said 4 Congress workers were arrested. It added that probe was on and a few more were yet to be arrested.&nbsp;
The 4 arrested Congress workers will be produced before the court, police said.&nbsp;
Incidentally, a strong police force of 800 personnel was deployed at the airport for the Prime Minister&rsquo;s security. The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee gave a call to organise protests during the PM's visit to the state on Monday, to unveil the statue of freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju, in protest against the &ldquo;broken promises&rdquo;, including grant of special category status to AP.
Some Congress workers climbed a building under construction in a village far away from the VIA at Gannavaram and released black balloons, ostensibly filled with hydrogen. A video clip released by the Congress showed the balloons being released as the Mi-17s took off from Gannavaram and entered the flight path over the village. The balloons were floating high in the air as the two choppers flew past but it could not be established whether they were anywhere close.
The Prime Minister&rsquo;s trip ended without incident, much to the relief of everyone but the SPG that is in charge of his security is said to have taken a serious view of it and sought an explanation from the state.
The SPG apparently asked the state police what if they were drones and not just balloons.
Krishna district Superintendent of Police P Joshua told PTI that there was no security breach at the airport. "Two Congress workers released the balloons from a building under construction at Surampalli village, 4.5 km away from the airport. By the time they released the balloons, PM Modi's chopper had left the airport,&rdquo; Joshua added.
He, however, said three Congress workers, including the women&rsquo;s wing leader Sunkara Padmasri, were taken into custody as they tried to enter the airport carrying black balloons. The police burst the balloons, the SP said.
A case under various sections of IPC was registered against them. Also, one of the two persons who released the black balloons at Surampalli was also taken into custody while hunt was on for the other, Joshua said.
