India, China military talks today to ease LAC tensions

Jun 06, 2020 18:51 IST

Indian and Chinese military commanders are meeting today amid heightened tensions on the Line of Actual Control. Delhi and Beijing have scaled up military talks to the level of Lt Generals to de-escalate the situation in Ladakh. Reports said that an Indian proposal for restoration of status quo and de-induction of artillery and tanks by both armies is likely to be on the table. The Indian delegation is led by Lt General Harinder Singh, the general officer commanding of Leh-based 14 Corps, while the Chinese side is headed by the Tibet Military District Commander at the talks in the Border Personnel Meeting Point at Maldo.
