Reports say Prime Minister Modi is holding repeated meetings with people concerned to keep up to date with the developments in Ladakh. Hours after India thwarted China’s attempt to change the status quo by carrying out ‘provocative military movements’ in Ladakh, Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur reached Delhi to brief top govt authorities about the latest face-off.
Reports add that during meetings with the PM, it was established that India is prepared for any eventuality.
On the night of August 29 and 30, Chinese troops ‘carried out provocative military movements to change the status quo’ violating the previous consensus arrived at during military and diplomatic engagements, but the attempt was thwarted by India, the government has said.
A Brigade Commander level meeting is in progress at Chushul to resolve ongoing issues.
