IIT Madras researchers seek to develop indigenous oil recovery method

IIT Madras researchers are in the process of developing an indigenous process for the efficient recovery of oil from mature offshore wells. The method, called 'Low-Salinity Enhanced Oil Recovery (LSEOR) is being developed in collaboration with research laboratories in Australia. the current Domestic crude oil production is insufficient to meet India’s energy demands. This new method may help enhance oil output efficiently.
