Roorkee's Indian Institute of Technology and College of Engineering have adopted five villages in Haridwar under HRD Ministry's Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. Through this initiative, they aim to help the needy and make the villages models for coronavirus prevention. As a part of the drive, all the villages are being sanitised and its members will be provided with face masks, sanitisers, food ration, medicines and personal hygeine tips, according to a report in the Hindustan Times. Among the villages are Brahampur and Badehi Rajputana. Farmers are also being advised on ways to get maximum output and on weather forecasts amid challenging times.
