President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed their grief on the passing away of former President Pranab Mukherjee. In a tweet President Kovind said that his predecessor was one of the worthiest sons of the nation. In a series of tweets, PM Modi recalled that how the veteran Congress leader had often lend him his counsel as he was new to Delhi in 2014. PM Modi said from the first day of his prime ministership he was blessed to have the guidance, support and blessings of Mukherjee and he will always cherish those memories. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu in his condolences said that the country has lost a statesman.
