Harley-Davidson Exits India

Harley-Davidson has decided to discontinue its sales and manufacturing operations in India. The iconic American bike maker informed its employees of additional restructuring costs amounting to $75 million in 2020, which includes discontinuing the brand's operations in India. The action will include an associated workforce reduction of approximately 70 employees, the company said in a statement. The discontinuation of India operations is a part of the brand&rsquo;s The Rewire strategy that was recently outlined by Jochen Zeitz, President, Chairman and CEO, of Harley Davidson. Harley-Davidson India had a manufacturing facility in Haryana. The brand expects to complete the restructuring actions within the next 12 months.

Honda Cars India has introduced an enhanced version of Honda Connect by introducing Honda Action on Google, which is now available on the new-generation City compact sedan. With the introduction of Honda Action on Google, the new City comes with the Google Assistant and will work with Ok Google voice command. The new Honda City already has&nbsp; Alexa remote capability and the update will be a boon to users who use Android devices. Users can now ask 10 voice-enabled features to the car by saying Ok Google, which can be accessed through Android and iOS devices. In addition to the new feature, the Honda Connect platform now comes with four new functionalities including Valet Alert, Fuel Log Analysis, Cost of Maintenance Analysis and enhanced options for Service Products.

The automaker also revealed that it sold over 4,000 cars in the first quarter of 2022 and has an order bank of over 5,000 cars, its largest ever so far.

The new Jeep Compass Night Eagle Edition is an all-black themed trim based on the current Compass and gets quite a fair bit of gloss black treatment to the exterior and interior. Upgrades include a gloss black grille, 18-inch black alloy wheels, black roof rails, gloss black wing mirrors, fog lamp bezels and more. Inside, the cabin gets a piano black treatment coupled with black vinyl seats with light tungsten stitching and black vinyl inserts for the door trim. The model carries over the 10.1-inch infotainment system, a 7-inch instrument display, dual-zone automatic climate control, hill start assist, traction control, electronic stability control (ESC) and electronic parking brake. The Jeep Compass Night Eagle will be available with the 2.0-litre diesel manual and the 1.4-litre turbo petrol with a 6-speed manual and 7-speed automatic transmission options.&nbsp;
