West Bengal Chief Minister has slammed the Centre's 'much-delayed' announcement of universal vaccination as a 'hollow, without substance and regrettable show of evasion of responsibility'.
She said that the announcement does not address major issues like ensuring the efficacy, quality and stable flow of vaccines. It also does not determine the purchasing price for the state, she added.
Citing short supply of vaccines, she requested the Centre to ensure availability at the earliest.
She also expressed apprehension that the new policy which decentralising the vaccine procurement and sales process might lead to unscrupulous mechanisms in the state and urged Centre to make a fair, transparent & credible vaccination policy.
