Valarmathi and three other staff of a blood bank in Sivakasi private hospital have been suspended for allegedly giving HIV infected blood to a pregnant woman. It was reported that the 8 months pregnant woman, admitted to a private hospital in the town, had red cells deficiency. The doctors got the blood from the hospital blood bank and transmitted it to her. After two days it was found that the blood given to her had HIV virus. The hospital authority immediately conducted an inquiry and found Valarmathi, and three others working in the blood bank guilty.
