A primary school in Wayadapur village in Vadodara has a unique way of ensuring that all its students attend school on a regular basis. The school has achieved 100 percent attendance of its pupils and it's the mid-day meal that motivates and brings these kids to school every day. Narendra Chauhan, the school principal has been growing all varieties of vegetables within the school premises for the last 17 years. The mid-day meal that students eat includes fresh, organic and nutritious food. Methi theplas, rice and vegetables like spinach, cabbage and brinjal are offered in the meal. Students make it a point to attend school to try out a new dish everyday.
