Heavy rains in Gujarat on Wednesday brought several parts of the state to a standstill. Several streets in Vadodra and Ahmedabad remained waterlogged, and trains stuck on tracks. Courts and schools will remain closed on Thursday. IMD has predicted widespread rainfall across the state till Saturday, and the NDRF and State Disaster Response Force have been put on stand by to tackle any situations of inundation. Breaking records, Vadodra received over 10 inches of rainfall in a few hours of the evening, and river Vishwamitri that flows through it, was just a couple of feet below the danger level.
