Over 350 protesters were detained in Delhi as they tried to stage a demonstration outside the Uttar Pradesh Bhawan against the CAA, NRC and alleged police brutality in UP. There was heavy security deployment in the area and most protesters were detained even before they reached the venue. The police say that protesters didn't have permission to hold a rally and that prohibitory orders were in force in the area. The students, however, claim police could not show any papers to prove that Section 144 had been imposed. The protesters were released later in the evening.
