The Haryana government has extended the suspension of telecom services including mobile internet in Sonipat, Jhajjar and Palwal districts till Friday 5 pm. The govt order stated that the decision was taken "to prevent disturbance of peace and public order". The order by Haryana's Home Department stated that the state government has extended the suspension of telecom services across all spectrums, all SMS services, excluding banking and mobile recharge, and all dongle services provided on mobile networks, except voice calls in Sonipat, Palwal and Jhajjar for next 24 hours till 5 pm on January 29. These services were suspended in the 3 districts on Tuesday after a violent farmers' protest rocked the neighbouring Delhi.
