Govt to discuss RBI's governance structure in next board meet: Reports

Amid the ongoing tussle between RBI and government, the centre wants to discuss the governance structure of the central bank in the next board meet scheduled on December 14. According to various reports, the government may also ask for more interim dividends from RBI to fill the gaps in its budget before the general election next year. Reports also suggest that the centre's plan to propose changes to enable closer supervision of the bank may inflame the fight.
