National badminton coach Pullela Gopichand, Olympic bronze-medallist shooter Gagan Narang and former football captain Bhaichung Bhutia have been named in the 13-member expert committee formed by the Sports Ministry to review the controversial draft of the National Sports Code 2017. The experts will review the code in relation to the present code and will suggest measures to make it acceptable to all the stakeholders. The draft will propose some major changes in the 2011 Code, including barring of ministers, members of Parliament and Legislative Assemblies and government servants from holding office in the Indian Olympic Association and National Sports Federations.
