Google launches website to help users avoid Covid-19 online scams

Apr 29, 2020 18:36 IST

Google has rolled out a new website focused on Covid-19 related security risks. The site will inform about online risks and scams and help users stay safe online. The website is currently available in Hindi and English, and the content will soon be rolled out in other regional languages. Recently the tech giant revealed that it saw over 18 million daily malware and phishing emails related to the novel coronavirus during the second week of April. This is in addition to more than 240 million Covid-19 spam messages that it receives daily. However, the company added that its machine learning tools filter and block more than 99.9 per cent of spam, phishing, and malware from reaching its users.
