Debt-ridden Punjab government is all set to buy 434 new luxury cars at a cost of nearly ₹100 crore for the chief minister, ministers, lawmakers, top officers and a few other functionaries. According to an IANS report, the Finance department, which early had objected on serving teas in government offices to cut down on expenses, has approved the purchase. The Punjab government is said to be under a debt of over Rs. 2 lakh crore.
