With all bilateral cricket series being canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, all teams' preparation plans for the World T20 have taken a hit. Former South African captain Graeme Smith feels that there's a good chance to shift the event to 2021. In an interview to Sport24, Smith said that South Africa was scheduled to play 14 T20 games before the World T20 in October and that's not going to happen anymore. He added that the key at the moment is to try and make sure that we're ready for when the opportunity arises to play cricket again and there's time to assess players' form quickly. With the chances of Covid-19 pandemic subsiding anytime soon looking bleak, this may well be the way forward.
