The US Senate has acquitted President Donald Trump in an impeachment trial over his dealings with Ukraine. The Senate, which is led by Republicans, voted 52-48 to acquit Trump of abuse of power and 53-47 on the charges of obstruction of Congress. In December, the Democrat-led House of Representatives had found the US President guilty on both charges of impeachment. He had been accused of pressurising Ukraine to investigate former US Vice-President Joe Biden. In his first public reaction to being acquitted in the Senate, Trump retweeted a video of a Time magazine cover showing Trump campaign signs from 2024, 2028 and beyond.
