Starting today, Bank of Baroda becomes India’s third largest lender, with Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank merging into it. The merged institution will have just under 10,000 branches and be the second largest public sector bank, after State Bank of India. If you’re an account holder in any of them, nothing changes for your banking services like account number, cheque book, ATM card etc. as of now. However, customers may eventually have to update their details with entities like the Income Tax department, insurance companies and mutual funds.
