The National Commission For Protection of Child Rights has issued a notice to MP Congress leader Sajjan Singh Verma over his controversial remark on girls' marriage age. The tCongress leader on Wednesday had asked that when a girl can reproduce at the age of 15, what's the need to increase the marriage age from 18 to 21. The commission has asked Verma to explain his comment and intention for making such "discriminatory statement against minor girls". The comment led to widespread outrage among all sections of the society.
