The International Air Transport Association (IATA) officially reduced its worldwide traffic forecast for 2020, on Monday, signifying a weaker than expected recovery from the pandemic.
The aviation body said it expects full-year 2020 traffic to be down 66% compared to 2019, in a statement.
IATA added that passenger demand in August continued to be 'highly depressed' with revenue passenger kilometres (RPKs) down 75.3% compared to August 2019. Adding that airlines operating in the Asia-Pacific region have been the worst hit.
