Former India football captain Chuni Goswami passed away in Kolkata on Thursday after a prolonged illness. He was 82 years old. Apart from leading the national side in one of the Olympics, India also won a gold medal at the 1962 Asian Games under him. The former poster boy of Indian football though ended his International career at the age of 27 and shifted his focus to cricket. Under him Bengal reached the Ranji Trophy final in the 1971-72 season. Chuni was also awarded with the Padma Shri and the Arjuna award.
