Experts warn against pink WhatsApp scam link that can install a virus on a user's phone, take complete control of phone and private data.

Cybersecurity expert Rajshekhar Rajaharia has flagged a popular WhatsApp scam currently doing the rounds. In a tweet, he asked users to not click any link that promises an APK download of a pink-themed WhatsApp client.
If a user does download and install the linked file, which is a virus, they could lose complete access to their phone, and even their private data. Users are advised to thoroughly vet any link received on messaging apps, and not click on suspicious links or offers.
In a statement to PTI, WhatsApp advised its users to use the in-app tools to report and block malicious contacts.

After a user clicks on the link, they are taken to a fake Messenger website with a fake login form, which then captures their username and password, and gains access to their account.
Users who fall victim to this scam risk losing access to their account and private data, which Group-IB says can even be used to blackmail the user.
