As devotees eagerly wait for the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya on Wednesday, the trust entrusted with the construction of the temple has released pictures of the proposed model. The Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust has released representative pictures of the grand Ram Mandir and the sprawling complex. The architect had said on Friday that the temple will now be double the size of the original design and it will have 5 domes instead of 2. The 'shikhar' or the temple spire will rise over the sanctum sanctorum. According to reports, its width is likely to be increased from 140 feet to 270- 280 feet. The length is likely to increase from 268 to 280-300 feet. In addition, the height would be raised to 161 feet from the originally proposed 128 feet. The ceremony on August 5 will mark the official beginning of the temple construction.
