The Faroe Islands, a part of the Kingdom of Denmark, are being shut down for a weekend, but 100 people can stay for free! A major clean-up and maintainence drive has been planned from 26th to 28th April. Volunteers will be offered free food, drink and lodging in return. The move comes in an attempt to promote sustainable tourism and ensure that natural resources are preserved and protected. If this maintenance weekend proves to be a success, it will be repeated every year.
