Upping the ante on the Centre on the issue of the farmers' protests, former Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal on Thursday returned Padma Vibhushan award as a symbol of his protest against farm laws. The Akali Dal supremo said that has been 'deeply pained by Centre's betrayal over the farm bills'. Earlier Akali Dal had quit NDA over the new farm laws. Following, Badal's lead, Rajya Sabha MP Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa has also announced that he will return his Padma Bhushan. The former BJP ally has been demanding withdrawal of the new laws, against which farmers have been protesting since September.
