President Donald Trump on Wednesday contradicted comments from the director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Robert Redfield, who said a vaccine for the novel coronavirus could be broadly rolled out by “late second quarter, third quarter of 2021. Redfield, in his testimony to a congressional committee also added that masks might become even more effective. Trump, in a news conference however said he believed vaccine will be rolled out much sooner. According to Trump, Redfield 'appeared to have been confused' by the committee's question. Trump also criticized Redfield for saying wearing a mask can be just as effective as a vaccine.
