Explosions and violence left at least two dead and several injured in as voting began in Afghanistan. 15 people were injured in the first blast inside a mosque that was being used as a polling station. A second explosion at a polling station in the Sorkh Rod district left 1 dead and 3 others injured. Over 9 million Afghans registered to vote in the presidential polls, amid threats of violence from the Taliban. Security has been tightened across the country, with tens of thousands of troops and police deployed across the country.
