Former ISRO chief Madhavan Nair was among five people who were inducted into the BJP in the presence of party chief Amit Shah. Nair headed ISRO from 2003 to 2009 and oversaw India’s first moon mission, the Chandrayan 1. He was also named as an accused by the CBI in the Antrix-Devas deal case, for allegedly causing a loss of Rs 578 crore to the exchequer.
