Ex-Air Chief on why Abhinandan's capture had Pak Army Chief shaking

Oct 29, 2020 21:06 IST

After Pakistan's MP Ayaz Sadiq told the Parliament that the country's Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa was shaking and sweating during a meeting to discuss Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman's release, former Air Chief Dhanoa weighed in on why he thinks the Pakistani general was so nervous. Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa (retired), who was the Chief of Air Staff when Abhinandan was captured in February last year, said that there was intense military pressure from India on Pakistan to release the India Air Force officer. He added that the military posturing of all three Indian defence services was very offensive and that could have completely unnerved Pakistan's Army chief.
