After losing the first ODI, Ireland put up a brilliant fight in a must-win second game but England proved a little too tough yet again. The hosts avoided a scare and beat Ireland by 4 wickets in the 2nd ODI to clinch the series with 1 game remaining. Ireland once again had a disastrous start with the bat and were reduced to 91/6. But Curtis Campher fought back for the visitors with a gritty 68, helping them finish at 212/9. Chasing which Jonny Bairstow cut loose and smashed the joint-fastest ODI fifty for England. He was eventually dismissed for a 41-ball-82. Eoin Morgan and Moeen Ali both went back for a duck each as England suddenly found themselves wanting at 137/6. But an unbeaten 46 and 47 by Sam Billings and David Willey respectively helped the 3 Lions cross the finish line. The final ODI will be played at the same ground on Tuesday.
