Come June this year, all schools in New Zealand will be able to access free sanitary products, with an aim to end period poverty.
According to Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, this initiative is one by which attendance in school's can be increased, reduce poverty and improve overall well being of children.
She further added that the announcement comes after a successful pilot program that was launched last year.
The project, which will be rolled out in phases will cost NZ$25 million through to 2024.
