Einstein's 'God letter' fetches $2.9m at Christie's auction

Dec 05, 2018 11:31 IST

Physicist Albert Einstein's letter, in which he rejected god, has been sold for a stupendous $2.9m. It has exceeded the prediction, which was expected to be $1.5 m at the Christie's auction in New York. The "God letter" was written to German philosopher Eric Gutkind, as a response to one of his works. "The word God is for me nothing but the expression and product of human weaknesses," Einstein wrote.
