Ecuador has denied reports that fugitive godman Nithyanand has been granted asylum in their country. A statement issued by their embassy also says that the Nithyanand has also not been allowed to buy any land or island in South America near or far from Ecuador. But Ecuador has confirmed that the Godman had applied for refuge but the request was denied. The statement comes after multiple reports claimed that the self-styled godman who is wanted in multiple cases, including for rape, has fled to Ecuador. Meanwhile, the Indian government on Friday said that they have cancelled Nithyanand's passport and rejected his application for a fresh one. When quizzed about reports that the godman has founded his own country this is what the MEA had to say.
